In respect of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit’s talk about Thai orchids and elephant conservation, Siam Paragon is retaining the “7th Siam Paragon Royal Orchid Paradise” this month. The happening – named as the biggest orchid public showing in Thailand – features some displays highlighted by a exceptional orchid placement, a giant elephant made with Rhynchostylis orchids at the botanical space on the M floor. Hua Hin Jazz Festival 2013
According to TAT the Hua Hin Jazz Festival 2013will be held on May 31 and June 1 2013 at oceanside at the Centara Grand Beach Resort and Villas.
This year, the organisers are moving away from Western acts and will instead be bringing in up-and-coming names in Asian jazz. The line-up includes Japanese outfits Jun Abe Group and Les Freres, Indonesian pianist Nita Aartsen and a number of home-grown talents. (more…)

Four-time Grammy Awards nominee, and eight-time Gramophone Awards winner including Record of The Year and The Gold Disc, British pianist Stephen Hough will be performing works including Borodin’s In The Steppes of central Asia, Lutoslawski’s variations on a Theme by Paganini, Rachmaninov’s Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini and Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade Op. 35 together with the Bangkok Symphony Orchestra conducted by Darrell Ang.
